About the event
We warmly invite Ukrainians, friends of Ukraine, and all who stand for freedom and dignity to join us for a special community event in Exeter, marking two national Ukrainian holidays — Flag Day and Independence Day — which we will commemorate together this year, in a shared spirit of unity, remembrance, and hope.
In a time of war, these days carry powerful meaning.The blue and yellow flag has become a global emblem of courage and solidarity — and independence a daily act of resistance, strength, and faith in the future.
We begin with a public rally in the city centre, followed by a march with Ukrainian flags and music to the River Exe.By the water, we’ll gather for a relaxed and welcoming community picnic (with a taste of Ukrainian hospitality!) and enjoy outdoor games for children and adults.
