Roots & Routes is a gathering about what food carries with it - the kind of knowledge that doesn't get written down, that travels in recipes, in the smell of something cooked far from home. On 20 June, food makers, chefs, and storytellers from diasporic communities across the South West are coming together to share exactly that.

The day draws on Olia Hercules's family memoir Strong Roots, taking Ukrainian food traditions as its starting point and opening out into conversations with Hong Kong, West African, Syrian, Kurdish, and other communities across the region.
