Motanka Masterclass: The Art of the “Berehynia”

We are pleased to invite you to the “Berehynia” Masterclass, a dedicated workshop exploring the heritage of the Ukrainian Motanka.

We are proud to bring this event to life together with DDE and as part of the inspiring "Celebrate Exeter's Diver-city" project.

The Motanka is a ritualistic craft, blending art with spiritual intention. In this session, participants will learn the traditional techniques of wrapping and tying fabric to create a talisman of protection and harmony.

Inclusive Participation To ensure a high-quality learning experience, the workshop is split into two language streams: English and Ukrainian. We welcome participants of all skill levels, from absolute beginners to experienced crafters.

Hospitality The session will be complemented by traditional Ukrainian refreshments, including herbal tea and savoury rolls, providing a warm atmosphere for cultural exchange.
