A vyshyvanka is more than just a shirt. It carries our memory, our dignity, our roots. It’s a way to say who we are — even far from home.
Today, as Ukraine lives through the third year of full-scale invasion, and the twelfth year of a war where Ukrainians are dying every day, the meaning of the vyshyvanka has changed.
It’s about strength. It’s about pain. And it’s about love — for our people, our freedom, our culture.
We invite the Ukrainian community and all friends of Ukraine to gather in the centre of Exeter to mark this day together.We’ll stand side by side — in embroidered shirts, with flags, with children —to remind the world about Ukraine. To say thank you to British society for its support. And simply to be together.
