Message from our headmaster

"Dear parents, dear students, esteemed colleagues, and friends of our community!

I sincerely welcome you to the page of the 'Berehynia' Saturday School of Ukrainian Studies in Exeter!

Our school is more than just classrooms and lessons.

It is a space where the Ukrainian word lives, where native songs resound, and where every child can feel part of a large, strong, and friendly family."

With respect and warmest wishes,

Oksana Kryviak, Director of 'Berehynia' School

Our Mission

In today's world, far beyond the borders of Ukraine, we face a vital task — to preserve our roots. The mission of 'Berehynia' school is to nurture the Ukrainian language, culture, history, and traditions in the hearts of the younger generation. We strive for our children, growing up in the multicultural environment of the United Kingdom, to be clearly aware of their identity and to take pride in being Ukrainian.

Comprehensive Approach to Personal Development

History Lessons

Studying history helps children understand their roots, the greatness of our people, and the cause-and-effect relationships of events, fostering analytical thinking and national pride.

Language, Songs, and Poetry

We actively study Ukrainian poetry and sing songs. This helps children develop correct pronunciation, enrich their vocabulary, and improve memory in an effortless and natural way.

Patriotic Education & Cultural Diplomacy

Our school is actively involved in celebrating all Ukrainian patriotic holidays. Furthermore, our students participate in rallies and events, proudly representing Ukraine before the international community.

Socialisation & Environment

We create a safe, supportive space where children communicate in Ukrainian, find loyal friends of their own age, and adapt to life in new conditions.

Ukrainian Literature

We introduce students to the fascinating world of Ukrainian writers and poets. Through fairy tales, short stories, and classical works, we teach children to reflect, analyse, and love their native tongue.

Creativity & Art Therapy

We develop motor skills and creativity through working with clay and painting, creating a space for free self-expression and emotional release.

Stronger Together

The success of our school is the result of a great collective effort. We deeply value and understand that Saturday schooling requires significant effort, discipline, and dedication from every family.

Thank you, dear parents, for your conscious commitment, for investing your time and energy into your children's future, and for walking this path side-by-side with our teachers.

Our cooperation is the strong foundation upon which 'Berehynia' stands.
