On July 28th, Ukraine officially celebrates Statehood Day for the second time - a special occasion with a unique history. Its date, July 28th, was chosen deliberately as it marks the day of the Baptism of Kyivan Rus in 988 AD. The origins of the Ukrainian state date back to the 5th century when the magnificent Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, was founded.
Statehood Day is a time to celebrate our national identity and commemorate significant events. This holiday symbolizes renewal and unity. We are fighting for peace and freedom, and each one of us plays a crucial role in shaping the future of our country.
