About the event
On 16 March 2022, Russian forces bombed the Mariupol Drama Theatre — a building where hundreds of civilians had taken shelter. The actors were among them.
Mariupol Drama is their testimony. Personal belongings, videos filmed on their phones, and the stories they carried out of the siege — brought together in a 60-minute performance.
Performed in Ukrainian with English subtitles.
On stage: Vira Lebedynska (head of the music and drama department), Olena Bila, and Ihor Kytrysh — a family of actors — alongside their son Matvii.
Text by Oleksandr Havrosh, based on the actors’ own accounts.
Direction and music design by Artist of Ukraine Yevhen Tyshchuk.
