UKRAINIAN WAR POETRY: Translating experience. Manchester

Це поетичний воркшоп за участю лавреаток різних міжнародних конкурсів Юлії Мусаковської та Олени Гусейнової, та Ганни Хрякової, міжнародного менеджера Міста літератури у Львові ЮНЕСКО. Він спрямований на людей, які зацікавлені в  українській культурі, мистецтві, поезії, та хочуть її пропагувати та розповсюджувати.

На цьому воркшопі ми будемо читати і розбирати вірші українських сучасних воєнних поетів. Після читання будемо ділитися своїми історіями та спогадами, які асоціюються з віршом, почуттями, образами, асоціаціями, що виникли під час прослуховування. 

Все це допоможе художньо та з певним сенсом перекласти ці вірші на англійську мову, враховуючи почуття та бачення  українців, що переживають війну та українські культурні цінності.

This poetry workshop features Yuliya Musakovska and Olena Huseynova, acclaimed winners of various international awards, along with Hanna Khryakova, the international manager of the UNESCO City of Literature in Lviv. It is designed for people interested in Ukrainian culture, art, and poetry, and those who wish to promote and spread it.

During this workshop, we will read and discuss poems by contemporary Ukrainian war poets. Following the readings, we will share our personal stories and memories related to the poems, as well as the emotions, images, and associations evoked by the listening experience.

This process will help us to artistically and meaningfully translate these poems into English, reflecting the feelings and perspectives of Ukrainians enduring the war, and respecting Ukrainian cultural values.
